Former Stamford football star killed in accidental shooting

Police say a former Stamford high school football star accidentally shot himself in the head last night.

According to authorities, Marcus Dixon was showing two of his friends his gun when he accidentally shot himself in the head at his home.

Family and friends of Dixon say he was a football star at Stamford High School and attended West Point Military Academy.

Police say Dixon had a permit for the gun.
