Milford bus stops cut to save school board money
Some angry Milford parents and students spoke out last night about cost-cutting measures requiring some students to walk nearly 2 miles to their bus stops. The board cut $40,000 from the transportation budget that went toward bussing some students from the area. Former Mayor Jim Richetelli, who is the chief operations officer of Milford's public schools, says the board is saving nearly $3,500 per student by picking them up at various stops in the city instead of in front of each student's home.
