Jury sides with Bridgeport in fatal shooting lawsuit
A jury has sided with a Bridgeport police officer and the city in a lawsuit stemming from a shooting in 2008 that killed a man.
Lt. Brian Fitzgerald shot Frederick McAllister in the back while trying to arrest him.
Fitzgerald said he thought McAllister, who was unarmed, was reaching for a gun.
McAllister's family says Fitzgerald was never in any danger and did not follow department procedures.
