Gov. Malloy on hand to help open new brewery in Stratford
Gov. Dannel Malloy, Stratford Mayor John Harkins, and other local leaders cut the ribbon today on the new Two Roads Brewing Company in Stratford, a project the state invested more than $1 million in.
The town hopes the state's investment of $1.6 million in the brewery will encourage other developers to look at Stratford for future projects at vacant factories around town. The Two Roads Brewing Company itself is the result of an $18 million restoration of the vacant U.S. Baird factory.
Starting next week, four types of beer will be produced at Two Roads. The brewery's brewmaster says he hopes to open the doors to the public by December.
