Norwalk police on hunt for hit-and-run driver

Police are searching for a driver linked to a hit-and-run accident in Norwalk last night. The crash happened at around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Union Avenue and Main Street. Authorities say the suspect turned into the wrong lane and struck the victim, who suffered a broken leg and minor injuries to his hip and wrist. Investigators say the driver was in a small, red car with a spoiler and tinted windows. Neighbors in the area say they're disturbed, but not surprised by the accident. "People are generally going 20 to 30 miles an hour at least past the speed limit," says resident Kathleen Richards. Police say the driver could face charges of evading responsibility and possibly speeding. To watch extended footage from the scene, click on News 12 Extra on Optimum TV channel 612.
