Longtime shoppers at the Beachside Super Market on Melba Street in Milford are in shock today after the surprise announcement that the store will soon close.
The owner plans to close the store in the next seven to 10 days. He says the decision to close the store is a purely financial one.
He says that Tropical Storm Irene left the store without power for about a week and he never could recover from the financial hit.
