Bridgeport police: Man killed in suspicious apartment fire
Authorities are investigating a suspicious fire that left a man dead in Bridgeport last night. Officials say the blaze broke out on the third floor of a multi-family home on Pembroke Street. The victim, 88-year-old Geraldo Aldorondo, had been in hospice care and died shortly after being removed from the building by neighbors. Fire officials say the flames did not spread to his apartment, but that the smoke became too intense. Detectives say gasoline had been poured out on the third floor, and that they have reason to believe the fire was intentionally set by a recently evicted tenant.
