Milford FEMA center moving to former school

The FEMA disaster recovery center located in Milford changes location tomorrow.

The new center located at the former Simon Lake Elementary School on Devonshire Road will open Sunday at noon. After that it will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

FEMA officials there can check individual cases, answer questions about claims, or review information needed to process claims. The agency had originally set itself up at the Parsons Complex.

Meanwhile, officials say the state is set to receive more than $1.8 million in federal funding to hire dislocated workers to help with Sandy cleanup and recovery efforts.
