Getting checked for skin cancer is essential for your health, and one southwestern Connecticut clinic offered screenings for free on Saturday.
Medically trained professionals gave the screenings at the Connecticut Dermatology Center in Norwalk.
During the screening, which took about five minutes, doctors checked each patient's scalp, back and face, among other areas of the body.
The clinic says that nine people who were screened were diagnosed with some form of skin cancer.
Medical officials say nearly 5 million people are treated for skin cancer and one person dies of melanoma every hour.
