NH man facing gun charges in Stamford

Stamford police say a New Hampshire man is facing gun charges for allegedly carrying a loaded weapon while drunk.

Police say 24-year-old Matthew Baran was arrested Monday near The Old House restaurant on Selleck Street.

According to police, witnesses complained that Baran was walking down the street with a gun.

They say he cooperated with officers, but complained that Connecticut needed gun laws like New Hampshire.
