Body discovered in Long Island Sound

A boater discovered the body of a woman in her 20s floating in the Long Island Sound Wednesday evening, police say.

The boater was about 5 miles south of Bridgeport Harbor when he found the body, which was not carrying any identification.

The Bridgeport Police Marine Unit recovered the woman's body around 5 p.m. Wednesday night.

An autopsy is expected to be performed to find the cause of death.

Bridgeport police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
