Bridgeport rallies held to decry gun violence

Friends and family of victims in Wednesday night's shootings in Bridgeport held three separate rallies Thursday night calling for an end to gun violence.
Some gathered for a vigil at the site of the shootings on Trumbull Avenue. Others gathered at St. Vincent's Medical Center and Bridgeport Hospital.
Savonnie McNeil was killed in the attack and eight people were injured.
McNeil's mother, Belinda McNeil, was among the mourners who were calling on local leaders and police to step up their efforts against illegal guns and violence.
Mayor Bill Finch and former Mayor Joe Ganim visited with the mourners en route to see the surviving victims at a nearby hospital.
The mourners are also asking anyone with information on the shooting to contact police.
