Bridgeport hosts housing and development summit

Leaders in Bridgeport are reviewing new housing and job initiatives in the city.

Organizers of the fourth annual Housing and Development Summit introduced new development plans, including the construction of retail and residential spaces.

They say Bridgeport is on an up-swing and is entering a new era.

Organizers also introduced a new jobs program called "freedom to work" and outlined some development ideas for the downtown and Steel Pointe areas of the city.
