Memorial held for Norwalk crash victim
The family of a woman killed in a car crash in Norwalk early Sunday morning is remembering her tonight.
A memorial for Doris Ramirez-Giraldo, 49, was held on Belden Avenue Monday, where the accident occurred. Her friends and family remember her as an outgoing woman who was full of life.
Police say that Ramirez-Giraldo was a passenger of a car traveling on Belden Avenue when another car coming off the Route 7 connector hit them.
Ramirez-Giraldo had 14 brothers and sisters, many of whom were at the vigil, and recall her as a happy woman who loved to dance and laugh.
"My mom was a beautiful lady. She was always there for me when I needed her. Even though I said goodbye to her body, I never said goodbye to her soul. And I really miss her," said Ramirez-Giraldo's daughter, Kimberly Saborio.
Ramirez-Giraldo leaves behind two daughters. Her funeral is set for this Friday.
