Fairfield enjoys July Fourth fireworks

Penfield Beach in Fairfield was among several areas in southwestern Connecticut that held Fourth of July fireworks shows Friday night.

Residents began filing in as early as 5 a.m. to try and secure vantage points in the sand.

Some residents with beachside homes hosted friends and family at viewing parties.

Others barbecued breakfast, lunch and dinner on the beach.

A full list of firework displays can be found on News 12's fireworks guide.
