Police: Drunken driver injures man in hit-and-run

Stamford police say a man was drunk behind the wheel when he struck a pedestrian and then took off.

Police say 43-year old Terrell Culvel was driving under the influence on Richmond Hill Avenue just after 12 a.m. Friday.

They say Culvel left the scene of the crash, but officers were able to catch up with him quickly thanks to help from witnesses.

Officials say the man who was hit by the car was taken to the hospital with head injuries.
