Bethal woman allegedly stole $500K from elderly aunt

A Bethel woman is reportedly facing charges after Stamford police say she stole $500,000 from her elderly aunt.

The Stamford Advocate reports that 62-year-old Barbara Pyne was charged Thursday, after allegedly gambling away some of her aunt's money and spending the rest on lavish trips to Europe.

The paper reports Pyne was supposed to use the money for her 84-year-old aunt's hospital bills and assisted living expenses.
