Members of Connecticut's congressional delegation gathered in Stamford Monday to push for a long-term transportation bill.
Sen. Chris Murphy, Congressman Jim Himes and local officials made the announcement at the South Street Bridge in Stamford, just one of many bridges in dire need of repairs.
Murphy says the state has OK'd hundreds of millions of dollars in transportation projects, most of which is federally funded.
He says if Congress doesn't act, those funds will dry up at the end of the month.
Officials say last year, the federal government paid $603 million toward Connecticut's transportation projects.
