Mayor Finch rivals plan to force Primary Election
Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch may have won his party's endorsement for re-election Tuesday night, but his Democratic challengers say they are planning to force a primary.
Finch, former Mayor Joe Ganim and Mary Jane Foster were out Wednesday shaking hands and asking for voters' support.
Officials say the unendorsed candidates now have to get about 2,000 signatures to get themselves on the ballot.
The Primary Election is set for Sept. 16.
