Landscaping company asks for help after $10K theft
A Fairfield landscaping company is asking for the public's help to find almost $10,000 worth of stolen equipment.
Charles Grace, owner of Greener Grasses, says that someone broke the lock and got into their garage last night, stealing $10,000 worth of equipment.
All of the property together, as well as the damage left behind, will cost the company close to $15,000.
Grace says that one of the main reasons he wanted to use the property for his business was because he was sure theft would never be a problem.
After seven years in business, he says this is the worst thing that has ever happened to him.
Grace says that one of his employees locked up the equipment and vehicles last night before ending the work day. At around 8 a.m. Thursday, his workers found almost all of their landscaping equipment gone, including weed wackers, leaf blowers and hedge trimmers.
Grace says that the biggest piece of equipment taken was a 14-foot flatbed.
Police say this is the third landscaping theft incident to happen in Fairfield this summer.
