Norwalk mom wants justice for son's murder
Four years after her son and a friend were murdered, a Bridgeport woman is calling on police to bring their killer to justice.
April Barron says losing 27-year-old Iriquois Alston on Aug. 6, 2011, was the worst thing that ever happened in her life.
Police say a passerby discovered Alston and 22-year-old friend Rickita Smalls shot to death in a car in Norwalk.
The killer or killers have yet to be brought to justice.
Police released a statement today saying that they have met with the families of both victims within the past month to discuss the case. They say there's an inner-circle of people who are aware of what happened to Alston and Smalls, and they are urging that group to come forward.
Barron says she has learned to move beyond her loss by helping others. She says she won't know true peace until her son's killer is apprehended.
