Greenwich police fine driver in fatal boating accident
Greenwich police say they have completed their investigation into a boating accident on the Long Island Sound that killed a teenage girl last summer.
Police say the boat's driver, who is now 17 years old, was ticketed and has to pay a $150 fine.
As News 12 previously reported, 16-year-old Emily Fedorko died last August while tubing off Greenwich Point Park with three of her friends from Greenwich High School.
Officials say Fedorko and a 15-year-old girl fell off their tube, and when the driver made the turn to pick them up, the boat collided with them.
Fedorko died at the scene. The other girl was hurt but has since recovered.
