Officials vote down Milford affordable housing complex
The city of Milford has voted against a plan to build a 180-unit housing complex.
City officials voted down the plan 8-2 last night.
Dozens of Milford residents were hoping the city's Planning and Zoning Commission would scrap the plan to build the apartment complex in the Wheelers Farms and East Rutland area.
Opposing arguments over many months included possible soil contamination, increased traffic, and concern for property values in the rural area.
The attorney for the developers of the complex declined to comment about the decision.
Officials say the vote can be appealed.
