Police offer $50K reward in 2011 murder case

Norwalk police say they are asking for the public's help in finding those responsible for killing two people four years ago Thursday.

Police say they are offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Police say 27-year-old Iroquois Alston and 22-year-old Rickita Smalls were found shot to death in a car on Avenue B in Norwalk in 2011.

Smalls' mother, Notassha Smalls-Blake, says she's been living in a nightmare every day since. She says she and her daughter were best friends.

Smalls-Blake says her daughter often baked cakes and brownies. She says she tries to remember the happy times, clutching a photograph of Smalls.

On the morning of Aug. 6, 2011, Smalls-Blake says she was going to close on her first home for the family.

Instead, she received a call from police telling her they'd found her daughter dead.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Norwalk Police Department at 203-854-3000.
