2 injured in shooting at Norwalk housing complex

A man and woman were injured in a shooting Friday in Norwalk.

Authorities say the shooting occurred near a playground Thursday night at the Washington Village Housing Complex.

Police say the woman sustained a gunshot wound to her abdomen and the male had injuries to both his arm and hand.

Officials say both victims were taken to Norwalk Hospital and are expected to recover.

Police say the shooting was an isolated incident that may have been prompted by an escalating feud between two families.

Residents tell News 12 they've experienced multiple shootings in the neighborhood and that they fear for their safety as well as the safety of their children.

Police urge anyone with information about the shooting to call 203-854-3000.
