Westport man uses Google to put businesses on the map
A Westport man is using his photography skills and modern technology to literally put local businesses on the map.
Bill Scalzi, a Google photographer, takes photographs of established businesses that can be found in online searches. Scalzi then creates a series of panoramic shots that gives people a virtual tour of both the interior and exterior of the businesses.
The Dock Shop owner Mike Lascala says Scalzi's virtual tour has brought more customers to his business.
It took Scalzi six months to be certified by Google. He says he was the first person in Connecticut to get certification about three years ago.
There are currently six people in the state in the same profession.
