Bridgeport group holds ball to end violence

A Bridgeport group dedicated to helping families who have lost loved ones to violence held a special event Sunday.

Y.A.N.A, which stands for "You Are Not Alone," held the ball at the Holiday Inn.

The group aims to help stop the cycle of violence in the community.

Organizer Dawn Spearman, who has also experienced the pain of losing a loved one to violence, says the event is more than just a one-night celebration, but an eight-week effort.
