Volunteers help build Bridgeport home
Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity spent Saturday raising spirits as well as the walls of a house.
Children from the group "Youth United" helped build the home on Maple Street in Bridgeport and raised more than $60,000 to help sponsor the construction.
Officials say that the home will eventually house a family with four young children.
Volunteers say that they are happy to be able to pay it forward.
"Right now they live in substandard housing, so giving them this house will really benefit them because they will be living in a safer neighborhood with better housing that helps their needs," says volunteer Rishav Jauhri.
