A Bridgeport business owner plans to help raise money for the funeral of a 6-year-old Ansonia girl killed in a car accident.
Elliot Lopez, owner of All Star Barber Shop on East Main Street, is holding a fundraiser for the family of Nyah Marcano, with all proceeds from haircuts going to the cause.
Investigators say the girl died after she was thrown from a vehicle during a crash Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle crashed into the car in front of it, then flipped into the median on Route 8 in Shelton.
Lopez says he has young children himself and was heartbroken to learn about the tragedy.
The fundraiser will be held on Monday from 12 to 4 p.m.
Marcano's family has started a fund to help raise the money for her funeral.
