Milford police promote safe driving near schools

As doors open for the new school year, streets are filled with students walking to class and parents rushing to drop off their kids before work.

Officials want to remind drivers to be safe amid the added roadway congestion.

Police have been raising awareness near schools. They are reminding drivers of some basic traffic rules, like slowing down in school zones.

Another common violation police see is drivers passing standing school buses.
