A Westport man faces charges after police say he left his children home alone as he wandered the neighborhood drunk.

Police say they arrested 49-year-old Ariel Aparicio-Jarro early Monday morning.

Officers say a resident on Sniffen Road called to say he was roaming their property, banging on their door and yelling for them to let him into their house.

Police say Aparicio-Jarro appeared to be intoxicated.

They say he lives in the neighborhood and officers found his 9-year-old and 3-year-old children home alone and unattended.
