Swimming off limits at Indian Well State Park in Shelton due to high bacteria

A state park in Shelton will be closed for swimming over the Labor Day weekend.



Officials say Indian Well State Park is closed because of blue-green algae in the water.



The algae can produce toxins that are harmful for humans and dogs.



Officials say the algae has closed the park to swimmers for more than a week.
