A 74-year-old Norwalk man is fighting for his life after a tree branch fell on him.
Investigators say emergency crews arrived on Rowayton Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday and found the man lying on the ground.
Officials say the tree branch fell about 40 feet and left lacerations on the back of his head.

Investigators say the man realized that the tree limb was loose and decided to put up warning signs to warn bystanders.
A friend of the family, who was working across the street at the time of the incident, says he went to help the man and called 911.
The family friend also told News 12 Connecticut the man was in surgery Thursday afternoon. His condition was not immediately clear.
