Police identify man killed in Cos Cob Harbor

Greenwich police have released the identity of an elderly man who died after his car went into the water at Cos Cob Harbor Monday.

Police say the man's family witnessed his car go off a boat ramp and into the water.

Police say 80-year-old Patrick Conroy, of Wall, New Jersey, was parking his minivan at the harbor before a boat trip with his family when he accidentally hit the seawall before plunging into 12 feet of water.

Police say Conroy's son immediately dove into the water in an effort to save his father, but could not pull him from the van.

Divers from the Marine Division located the body about 10 minutes later.
