Judge approves plea deal for man charged in double shooting
A Milford judge has approved a plea bargain for the Oxford man charged in a double shooting that killed his wife last year.
The deal will send Scott Gellatly to prison for the next 45 years for the murder of his wife, Lori Gellatly, and the attempted murder of her mother, Merry Jackson, at their home last May.
The couple's two 18-month-old children were home at the time of the murder, but neither of them were harmed.
Family members of the victim say they are pleased with the judge's ruling.
"This is a life sentence for him," says Jackson. "He's not going to have a good life and he doesn't deserve one."
