Man accused of crashing into police car while drunk

A Darien police officer is recovering after police say his cruiser was struck head-on by a drunken driver.

Police say Cesar Lorenzo, of Norwalk, slammed into Sgt. Jerimiah Johnson's cruiser early Sunday morning on Old Kings Highway.

They say Lorenzo had a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit.

Johnson was treated for ankle and lower back injuries and released from the hospital.
