Milford police warn of distraction burglary

Milford police are warning residents after they say a homeowner became the victim of a distraction burglary.

Police say it happened in the area of Orange Avenue and Pullman Drive yesterday afternoon.

They say the suspect got into the home by telling the homeowner he was from the water company. Police say once inside, the suspect told the homeowner to turn the washing machine on to check it.

Police say another man entered the basement, but then both quickly left.

It is unknown at this time if any valuables were taken from inside the residence.
