A Bridgeport teen spent today gearing up for a national boxing tournament next week, and supporters are holding a fundraiser to pay his way.
Jacob Marrero, 16, recently won the New England Golden Glove Championship and will compete in Utah for the national boxing title.
The junior at Harding High School says he will taking on boxers up to 34 years old, and he feels ready for the challenge.
Supporters will hold a weeklong car wash to cover all of his expenses.
The car wash will take place at 16-61 Barnum Ave. next to Franky's Diner Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
