Lawmakers are returning to the Capitol this morning where they're expected to pass a new fix for Connecticut's unbalanced budget.
The state Senate approved a plan that slashes $820 million from the budget on Thursday.
Those cuts are expected to hit cities and towns hard, impacting education spending in school districts.
It also changes the way state agencies are funded--eliminating a system that would automatically give them the same amount of money as the year prior.

Democrats say they had to make long term changes to avoid more budget problems in the future.
Republicans say they didn't get the details of the budget changes until early Thursday morning and didn't get enough time to make an informed decision before the vote was held.
The state House is scheduled to meet today at 10:30 a.m.
