Urgent care facilities have been prospering in southwestern Connecticut and more are about to open.
These facilities promise to take care of patients immediate needs when other doctors aren't available. For life-threatening situations, patients should go to the ER.
American Family Care or AFC Urgent Care, which currently has seven offices in Connecticut, is about to open another in Bridgeport, and another in Danbury.
The urgent care doctors say that once you get help for your immediate need, it is important to follow up with your regular doctor or a specialist.
