Redding police today announced the timeline for a summer construction project that will close a section of one of the busiest roads in town.
Police say crews will close Route 53 just south of Umpawaug Road on June 13.
Crews have already begun preliminary work to replace a bridge carrying the road over the Saugatuck River.
Police say state officials hope to have the project finished in time for the start of the new school year in September.
