East Haven man accused for committing check fraud

An East Haven man has a date with a judge for allegedly committing check fraud in Milford.

Police say 42-year-old Romain Lyons was arrested Wednesday.

Investigators say he deposited a $1,700 check at the Sikorsky Credit Union last October, but immediately withdrew the funds.

Police say the account the check was written from was later found closed.

He's been charged with theft.
