Plans unveiled to revamp commuter lot in Westport

Officials unveiled plans Monday to renovate one of the train commuter lots in Westport.

Saugatuck Commuter Lot No. 1, which is near Exit 17 on I-95, is set to undergo renovations that will ease flooding. The project will also improve lighting and give more access space to emergency vehicles.

Officials say the entrance and exit ways of the lots will be reduced during the project. Commuters are concerned the construction will create delays.

The renovation is expected to start after the July 4 holiday and should be completed by Labor Day.
