Miss Connecticut is back in Bridgeport after competing in the Miss USA pageant, where she made it to the top 10.
Tiffany Teixeira, 25, is the third Miss Connecticut to make the top 10, and as a first-generation American, says she feels like she's achieved the American dream.
Teixeira graduated from Central Magnet High School, then attended Quinnipiac University. Currently, she works nights as a nurse in the surgical trauma intensive care unit at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Teixeira returns to work on Tuesday, but says she really enjoyed the entertainment aspect of the pageant in Las Vegas. She says in the future, she'd love to merge that with her love of medicine and science for some kind of project.
