Eversource gears up to start $1.8 million project in Darien

Eversource Energy is planning to start work next week on a $1.8 million improvement project in Darien.

Officials say they will be replace 5,000 feet of natural gas pipes with safer and more durable plastic piping.

Eversource says the work will be done along several roads, including West and Holmes avenues, and some customers may experience a short disruption to their natural gas service.

The project is expected to be completed by September.
