Police: Stamford man struck teen with car during altercation

A Stamford man was arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly striking a teenager with a vehicle during an altercation.

Neighbors say they believe a graduation party started at a park and made its way to Alton Road, where the incident happened.

Police say a group of a dozen youths started banging on the hood of a black Honda and started beating the driver and passenger. They say the rear passenger, 25-year-old Michael Stramandinoli, jumped in the driver's seat and took off, hitting a teen.

Police say the 17-year-old was not part of the altercation and was avoiding the conflict. He was treated and released from the hospital with minor injuries.

Stramandinoli was charged with first-degree assault with a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident. He posted bond and is due in court at the end of the month.
