Saturday marked the blessing of the fleet for the community in Southport.
Dozens of people gathered in Southport for the event, which is a centuries-old tradition that started in fishing communities as a way to ensure a safe and bountiful season.
Families lined the streets as the day kicked off with a parade. Live marching bands banged their drums and sounded off their horns. There was also a mini car show. American flags waved in the air as spectators showed their patriotism.
All of the festivities led up to a fleet of boats being blessed as they sailed across the water.
