There will not be a Republican primary for Senate this year after all.
Stamford resident and former Olympian August Wolf says he's suspending his campaign.
In a statement released Tuesday, Wolf said he fell short of the 8,079 signatures he needed to force a primary.
In May, state Rep. Dan Carter won the Republican nomination, but Wolf accused party insiders of lobbying against him to prevent a primary.
Wolf says he is disappointed but will help Carter in an attempt to defeat Sen. Richard Blumenthal this fall.
