Bridgeport man in a coma after scooter crash

A Bridgeport man is in a coma after crashing his scooter into a passing car.
Luis Colon's father tells News 12 Connecticut that his son is surrounded by loved ones at Bridgeport Hospital.
Police say the 20-year-old Colon somehow lost control of his scooter at the intersection of Pearl and Orchard streets Wednesday evening and crashed into a moving car. Colon, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown about 30 feet after hitting the car, with his head hitting the pavement.
Colon was taken to the hospital with a skull fracture.
The driver of the car was not hurt.
