Lawmakers gather to discuss opioid epidemic in CT

National lawmakers, New Haven officials and members of the public are meeting this morning to address the opioid epidemic affecting the state.

The discussion takes place about a week after New Haven officials declared a public health emergency following at least 17 drug overdoses, including three deaths.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal says there isn't one simple solution to fixing the problem.

Sens. Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, and Congresswoman Rosa Delauro say they're working in Congress to provide emergency funding to the state to help fight the epidemic.
